
Clare Cherkasky graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in August of 1983 and was admitted to the Bar on August 30, 1983. She worked as an attorney on the Texas/Mexico border for five years and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1986. She is also admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, the State Bar of Virginia, the Eastern District of Virginia and the District Court for the District of Columbia.
Ms. Cherkasky is the former director of Proyecto Libertad in Harlingen, Texas and of Hogar Hispano of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia. She has been in private practice in Falls Church, Virginia since June of 1999.
Ms. Cherkasky has specialized in immigration matters throughout her career, with an emphasis on asylum, deportation and removal proceedings, citizenship and naturalization, family and employment sponsored immigration, and religious workers. She also handles uncontested divorces, trust and estate matters, and non-profit law.
She speaks Spanish and Greek.
